Kashmiri saffron (locally known as Kesar or Kong Posh) is one of the world’s rarest and most prized spices — often referred to as “Red Gold” due to its intense color, rich aroma, and exceptional culinary and medicinal value. It is grown exclusively in the Kashmir Valley of northern India, primarily in the Pampore region, at elevations of around 1,600 – 1,800 m above sea level.
